The Hurd is a set of servers running on top of the GNU Mach microkernel. Together they build the base for the GNU operating system.
Please note that the Hurd is under active development and is quite likely to crash your machine, so take precautions to save important data and use at your own risk.
The Hurd is not a substitute for a stable distribution of
Debian GNU/Linux. The latest stable distribution, Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 "Woody," is available by clicking here.
